Hi! My name is Danielle Lanson and I am so happy you dropped by.
First, let me answer the question I know you are asking - the origin of my business name since it doesn't seem to have anything to do with my actual name.
My family calls me Roo (as in the rambunctious kangaroo from Winnie the Pooh). I am not entirely sure why...it just happened and you know how those things go... once they happen, they stick forever. I changed the spelling to distance it a little from its cartoon inspiration. The second bit is a lot easier - Landry is my maiden name. There you have it!

Now, about my photography.
I shoot natural light and always love pushing my camera as far as it will go. I prefer to capture moments and memories in a more lifestyle and candid setting but I know that posed pictures are important to some people so I am very flexible about which end of that spectrum you prefer and wish for me to shoot.

Random things about me!
I grew up in Central Vermont and have an abnormal love for maple syrup. I have a degree in World Literature (and about 4 minors) from Castleton University in Castleton, VT. I still have all of my legos from when I was a kid. And I still build things with them. I insulated attics for almost a decade with my dad before moving to the big city...and subsequently the suburbs. I met my wife while doing service work for 10 months with AmeriCorps NCCC. I love Harry Potter. My idea of a Saturday night out consists of cruising the aisles of Costco. My favorite show is Parks and Recreation. I love the smell of bookshops. I want a pet pig. When I was little I wanted to play in the WNBA. That obviously didn't work out but I did get to be the captain of my college rugby team. I broke a lot of things playing rugby. I have a part time job pet sitting because: dogs. I am inspired by the intricacy of nature. I have had some form of a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember. I feel so lucky to be able to pursue this passion and permanently capture memories for everyone around me.
